That's what Christmas is all about

At this time of year, I get pretty stressed. Between figuring out "perfect" gifts for siblings and their boyfriends, tracking down a Wii Fit (impossible, by the way), and putting light-up trees in my yard (still not done), this holiday is a lot of work. But after yesterday, at the risk of sounding like A Charlie Brown Christmas special, I remembered the true meaning of Christmas.

As everyone knows, our staff donated time, money, and gifts to a family in need - a single mom with three kids, and yesterday was delivery day. Me, Kathy, Bridget, Payal, Jenelle and Jim Hamilton (our bodyguard!) travelled to Detroit to deliver bags of gifts and five boxes of food, including a turkey. We didn't get to meet all the kids, just the 4-year old, who couldn't resist sneaking out to peek at the gifts. The house was very tiny, and our gifts pretty much filled up the family room. She gave us all hugs, and teared up a bit (ok, so some of us were a bit watery as well), and I'm pretty sure the NTEA's gifts meant very much to her. So once again, thanks to everyone for helping make one family's holiday just a bit nicer this year!
